 Lab-7: Chemical compounds separation and purification.
The research laboratory team develops the processes
  • Separation and purification of basic organic and petrochemical synthesis products

At tens industrial plants there implemented processes of hydrocarbon mixtures separation by extractive rectification with acetonitrile and dimethylformamide.

Processes applied in industry which were developed with participation of research laboratory 7 (Lab-7) team:

  • Process of separation of butane-butene fractions of various origin by extractive rectification with polar aprotic solvents (acetonitrile, dimethylformamide);
  • Process of separation and purification of butadiene-1,3 from 4-fractions of various origin by extractive rectification with polar aprotic solvents (acetonitrile, dimethylformamide);
  • KPG catalyst production (palladium on alumina) for selective hydration of acetylenic hydrocarbons in butene-butadiene fraction;
  • Process of selective hydration of acetylenic hydrocarbons in butene-butadiene fraction;
  • Process of isopentane-isoamylene mixtures separation by extractive rectification with dimethylformamide;
  • Process of isoprene extraction and purification from 5-fractions of various origin by extractive rectification with dimethylformamide;
  • Process of complex processing of 5 pyrolysis fraction with isoprene and dicyclopentadiene release;
  • Process of styrene extraction and purification from 8-fraction of ethyl benzene dehydrogenation;
  • Process of methyl-tert-butyl ether production from 4-fractions of various origins using reaction-rectification apparatus.

Processes perspective for applying in industry, which were developed with participation of research laboratory 7 (Lab-7) team:

  • Process of one-stage liquid-phase isoprene synthesis on the basis of isobutylene (or tert-butyl alcohol) and formaldehyde;
  • Process of isoprene synthesis on the basis of liquid-phase isopentane oxidation;
  • Process of isoprene synthesis on the basis of liquid-phase isobutane oxidation;
  • Process of isoprene synthesis by butenes-2 hydroformylation with gas synthesis;
  • Process of butene-2 extraction from 4-fractions of various origin;
  • Process of butene-1 of polymerization grade extraction from 4- fractions of various origin;
  • Process of extraction of dicyclopentadiene with concentration of about 99 wt.%;
  • Process of isoprene purification from impurities, being poisons for stereoregular polymerization, by interaction with metalloorganic compounds;
  • Process of piperilene extraction and purification;
  • Process of styrene extraction from gasoline pyrolysis products by extractive rectification with polar aprotic solvents (dimethylacetamide, N-methylpyrrolidone);
  • Process of butene-1 into butenes-2 positional isomerization;
  • Process of benzene extraction from 6-8 pyrolysis fraction;
  • Process of benzene extraction from reforming catalysates by extractive rectification with N-methylpyrrolidone (N-MP)

Processes being developed by Research Laboratory 7 (Lab-7) team within the frame of laboratory research using pilot units of continuous operation, with capacity of up to 2 l/h by origin feedstock:

  • process of methylal synthesis on the basis of formaldehyde and methanol using reaction-rectification apparatus;
  • Process of secondary butyl acetate synthesis from n-butenes (butane-butene fraction) and acetic acid using reaction-rectification apparatus;
  • Process of isobutylene dimerization using reaction-rectification apparatus;
  • Process of various solvents extraction, using the equipment of JSC RI Yarsintez pilot unit, from gasoline fractions of oil straight-run distillation, from naphtha-gas-oil fraction, from coal solvent, from alcohol-ether concentrate of butyl alcohol production, from gas condensates.
